Balotiq: Secure E-Voting for Institutions and Pageants

Overview

Balotiq is a Nerds IV product: a secure, tenant-isolated e-voting platform for institutions, unions, and pageants, covering everything from registered member elections to public pay-per-vote contests.

The Challenge

Elections fail people in two ways: either the process is opaque and people don't trust the count, or it's so cumbersome that turnout suffers. Existing options forced organizations to choose one failure mode or the other.

The Solution

• •Registered elections with eligible-voter import, identity verification, and one-ballot-per-voter enforcement
• •Public pay-per-vote contests for pageants and open competitions, phone-verified with no account required
• •Every ballot encrypted and chained to the one before it, so results can't be quietly altered after the fact
• •Tenant isolation enforced at the database level, not just the application layer, so one organization's data never touches another's
